This subject has long been discussed in the Bengal Cat community, even before the formal recognition of Savannah or Chausie breeds. The first article to appear in print in TICA presenting a survey of wild cat x domestic cat crosses was published in TICA's Trend in 1996 written by me.

Bobcat - determined NOT to be hybrid and confiscated

Federal Charges & Penalty for international shipping SBT Bengal Cats without wildlife import/export permit and inspection.  US Fish & Wildlife "googled" every international appearance of cattery and each individual cat was charged separately.  The total was $5000 US Dollars and felony.
